Background
Neocog Technologies in partnership with Libro Financial Group
was started in 2001. Neocog's Member Relationship Management
system ACE actually predates Neocog. It was developed in the
mid-nineties by Neocog CEO Chris Palmer and the IT department
at Libro. At that time Chris, who was part of a team working
on developing a CRM system for one of Canada's largest banks
was recruited by Libro, then St. Willibrord Credit Union to
come and develop a custom CRM solution for their credit union.
ACE (Automated Contact Expert) was launched in June of 1997.
Over the next couple of years other credit unions across
Canada started to take interest in ACE, and by 1999 two more
credit unions in Ontario had purchased ACE from Libro. Libro,
recognizing that they wanted to focus on serving their members
and building their credit union in Southwestern Ontario, began
discussions with Chris regarding starting a technology company
that would develop, support and sell ACE to other credit unions.
As a result of those discussions Neocog was formed and began
operation in February of 2001. By the end of that first year,
ACE was running in five Canadian credit unions including the
largest in Alberta, Saskatchewan & Ontario.
One of Neocog's first tasks as a company was to develop a
Data Mining/Business Intelligence tool. A number of clients
had identified that they had vast amounts of data from different
databases throughout the organization and they wanted a way
to aggregate that data into a central location where it could
be warehoused and mined. As a result Cognito was developed
and released in 2002. Over time many enhancements have been
made that allow Neocog to dynamically display data through
very robust visualizations.
Having gained a reputation of trust and providing high quality
solutions, Neocog was approached to develop custom loans origination
solutions for several of their clients. These "Lending Wizard"
applications eventually evolved into IntelliLender, an efficient,
affordable loans origination solution built into ACE."
Today, there are 20 credit unions across Canada using Neocog's
solutions to serve over a million members across more than
320 locations.
